The Verse This Whole Lesson Hangs On

"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law."— Deuteronomy 29:29

Serious Bible Students, pull up a chair. We are going somewhere a little bit far today, but we are going to keep one rope tied to the porch the whole way, and we are going to come home in time for supper. The rope is this verse.

God's Filing Cabinet — Janice Translation

God has a filing cabinet we don't get to open. We don't need to. He gave us the filing cabinet we do need. The one we do need is the one that saves us.

The Rule That Still Stands

Moses said this on the plains of Moab about three thousand four hundred years ago. It is still the rule. Every time a Christian tries to pry open the other filing cabinet — the one with the secrets — they either go crazy, go broke, or go sideways. Usually all three.

We are going to peek at the locked cabinet today — honestly, because God is not afraid of honest questions. And then we are going to come right back to the open cabinet, because Jesus is the whole point of both.

Movement One: The Books That Didn't Make It

A lot of people in church today are being handed book lists. Read Enoch. Read Jubilees. Read Jasher. Read the Zohar. Read the Ethiopian Bible, it has the real canon. Whole YouTube channels are built on this. Knowing what something is is ninety percent of not being fooled by it.

Ok, You gotta know REAL TRUTH!

📜 1 Enoch

Jewish writing, ~300–100 B.C. Jude quotes it. Not in the Hebrew canon. Interesting — not Scripture.

📅 Jubilees

~150 B.C. Calendar-focused retelling of Genesis. Loved at Qumran. Runs past Scripture on genealogies and extra laws.

⚔️ Jasher

The real one is lost. What's sold online is a medieval text from the 1600s — not the Jasher Joshua knew.

🔮 The Zohar

Foundation of Kabbalah. Published in 1200s Spain. Medieval. Not apostolic. Not from the time of Jesus.

✝️ Ethiopian Bible

81 books. Christianity came to Ethiopia early — Acts 8. A different tradition, not a conspiracy. Same Jesus.

🍎 Newton's Notes

More theology than physics. He believed Jesus was created, not coeternal — the ancient heresy of Arianism. Genius at physics. Wrong about God.

A Closer Look: Enoch, Jubilees, and Jasher

Enoch — The Book Jude Quoted

Jude 14-15 quotes directly from 1 Enoch 1:9. So the Holy Spirit let one New Testament verse come out of it. But quoting a source doesn't canonize it — Paul quoted pagan poets too (Acts 17:28, Titus 1:12).

"Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all..." — Jude 14-15

Enoch is interesting. It is not Scripture. Don't build a doctrine on it. Build your doctrine on Jesus.

Jubilees — The Calendar Book

"Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do." — 1 Timothy 1:4

Paul was already warning about this in the first century. Long genealogies and hidden calendars have always been a temptation. It hasn't changed.

Jasher — The One You Can't Actually Buy

The real Book of Jasher referenced in Joshua 10:13 is genuinely lost. What's sold online is a medieval Hebrew text from the 1600s — more than two thousand years after the Joshua reference.

Ask anyone selling "the Book of Jasher proves..." which Jasher they mean. The real answer will embarrass them.

The Zohar, the Ethiopian Bible, and Newton

The Zohar — Tradition of Men

Published in 1200s Spain by Moses de León, attributed to a second-century rabbi. Most scholars — Jewish ones included — think de León wrote it himself. It has a full cosmology of emanations and spheres that is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." — Colossians 2:8

The Ethiopian Bible — A Different Tradition, Not a Conspiracy

81 books. Christianity came to Ethiopia in Acts 8 — the Ethiopian eunuch. Their canon preserved books western churches let go. Honest Ethiopian Christians will tell you: the core Gospel message is the same. The extra books did not give them a secret Jesus. They gave them more context around the same Jesus we have.

Isaac Newton — Genius at Physics, Wrong About God

Newton's theology papers were suppressed because he had become convinced the Trinity was a fourth-century corruption — the ancient heresy called Arianism.

Being smart does not make you right about God. The Council of Nicaea got it right: Jesus is very God of very God, begotten not made, of one substance with the Father. Newton's private notebooks don't overturn Nicaea.

Movement One: The Summary

The Book That Saves

You Is a Person

"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." — John 5:39

All of these books — Enoch, Jubilees, Jasher, the Zohar, Newton's notes — have one thing in common. None of them are a secret that will save you. The book that saves you has been sitting on your nightstand the whole time. And the book that saves you is not actually a book. It is a Person.

The Pharisees' Mistake

They knew the book cold. They missed the Person it was pointing at.

Our Calling

Don't be a Pharisee with extra books. Be a disciple with the real One.

The Canon's Purpose

God was not withholding truth. God was curating the shortest road to His Son.

"And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." — Luke 24:27

The risen Jesus on the Emmaus road taught from Moses and the prophets. He did not pull out 1 Enoch. He did not pull out the Zohar. Our 66 books are about Him. Anything else is commentary — good sometimes, bad sometimes, never the main thing.

Movement Two: The Real Science, Honestly

Your students are smart. They deserve real answers, not church-lady hand-waving.

South Atlantic Anomaly

A real, measurable weakening in Earth's magnetic field over the South Atlantic. ESA's Swarm satellites confirmed it has grown by nearly half the size of continental Europe since 2014. Astronauts on the ISS see cosmic ray flashes. Satellites get errors. It is not a portal. It is a weakening shield — and Jesus upholds it.

Solar Cycle 25

The sun has an eleven-year cycle. Cycle 25 peaked in October 2024. Aurora has been seen as far south as Texas. Solar storms can affect the power grid. It is not the wrath of God. It is the sun doing what God designed it to do, on a cycle repeating since the 1750s.

Quantum Mechanics

The most experimentally successful scientific theory ever developed. Particles act like waves. Spooky action at a distance. It does not prove your thoughts create reality. You cannot manifest a parking space with quantum vibrations. You can pray and God will answer — but that is relational, not quantum.

What the Science Actually Says About Jesus

He Upholds All Things

"Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power..." — Hebrews 1:3

"And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." — Colossians 1:17

Consist means hold together. By Him. That is the answer to every "what's going on with the earth" question.

The Real Portal

"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." — John 10:9

The real portal is described in John 10:9. His name is Jesus. He is the door into another dimension, and that dimension is called the kingdom of heaven, and you enter it by faith — not by latitude and longitude. You will not find it by boat. You will find it on your knees.

On Einstein

Einstein used the word God to mean the order of the universe. He was not a Christian. His not believing in Jesus does not make Jesus less real.

"Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar." — Romans 3:3-4

On the Bermuda Triangle

Lloyd's of London has said for decades: the disappearance rate, once you control for traffic, is statistically normal. There are no black holes on earth. Every portal story is urban legend, a boring unexplained event, or a hoax.

Movement Three: The Loving Debunk

How to Test What You're Being Told

People, your grandkids are being discipled by algorithms. So am I. So are you. The algorithm loves a secret. What they don't want you to know. It is a trillion-dollar business model. It sells because it flatters us — it makes us feel like we are inside the circle, special, chosen, seeing.

"Behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not." — Matthew 24:26

That verse is two thousand years old, and it was written for the internet. Anytime someone says here is the hidden Christ, in a secret book, in a secret symbol, in a secret teaching — believe it not.

"For this thing was not done in a corner." — Acts 26:26

Brand that on your forehead.

The Gospel is not a corner.

 It is a public square.

 The real Christ came in public.

He died in public.

He rose in public.

Who is making money off this?

Follow the money. If the "truth" has a subscription page, you are probably being marketed to, not informed. — 1 Timothy 6:5

Does this point to Jesus or to secret knowledge?

Real truth ends at the feet of Christ. Gnostic truth ends at the feet of the teacher who told it to you.

Would this hold up in daylight?

Not on a YouTube channel at midnight — in daylight, in a library, with a qualified expert in the room. If it wilts when you fact-check it, it was never truth.

Does it produce fruit?

Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. — Galatians 5:22-23. Fear, paranoia, and division are not the Holy Spirit.

The Name Above Every Name

Where All Three Movements Lead

"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." — Philippians 2:9-11

Every knee. Every tongue. The knees of scientists and skeptics. The knees of dictators and senators. The knees of angels and demons. The knees on the International Space Station, even as it passes through the South Atlantic Anomaly at seventeen thousand miles an hour. Not one holdout. Not one hidden teaching will keep its throne.

Movement One

The books that didn't make the canon — because they were not needed to get you to Jesus. The 66 that did are all road signs pointing the same way.

Movement Two

The magnetic field, the solar cycle, the quantum weirdness — all of it is the work of the same Jesus. He made it. He upholds it. He will one day fold it up like a garment.

Movement Three

Every false teaching, every hidden book, every portal hoax — they all share one feature. They lower Jesus from His throne. That has been the move since Eden. Hath God said?

"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." — John 1:3

What I Want My Students to Take Home

Keep your Bible open more than your phone open.

That is the whole class.

Read honestly.

Read Enoch if you want to, read history, read science journals, read the news. Read all of it through the lens of the Book. The Book is the lens. Don't let anybody sell you a different lens.

Love your neighbor who fell for the conspiracy.

Don't argue. Don't shame. Just keep showing up with Jesus. Cinnamon rolls help. Ask me how I know.

Count your days.

Today is April 20, 2026. Thirty-two days from now is Pentecost. God has a calendar. He is keeping it. You are on it.

Remember the Name.

When the news gets loud, when the sun spits, when you wake up at three a.m. afraid — say the Name out loud.

Jesus.

That is the secret thing that was revealed. That is the hidden thing that came out of the locked cabinet and got nailed to a cross and walked out of a borrowed grave. The Name above every name. The door. The foundation. The Alpha and Omega. The root and the offspring of David. The bright and morning star.

Hand in hand, ladies. We finish this thing together. Amen and amen.
