Fact, Faith, and the Enemy Within — 2023 to 2026

A Word from the Teacher

Beloved, I am coming to you not as an alarmist, not as a conspiracy theorist, and not as a political voice. I am coming to you as a watchman. The prophet Ezekiel records the word of the Lord:

Ezekiel 33:6

"But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."

There is a bus full of souls going toward a cliff. I see it. I am not stepping aside. Jesus is the Captain of our salvation — Hebrews 2:10 calls Him exactly that — and He has not left us without a lamp in a dark place. So let us open our eyes, turn on every light, and look honestly at what is happening in this nation in the year 2026. We will not operate in fear. Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). But we will not be naive either.

This study is for my Bible students. Every verse is written out in full. Every fact is drawn from confirmed public record, from the White House briefing room, from the FBI, from the Pentagon, from the House Oversight Committee. I have nothing to add to Scripture, and nothing to subtract from the record. 

Part One: What Are We Talking About?

The Laboratories — Temples of the Atom

To understand what is at stake, we must first understand where these men and women worked.

They are not random. They are connected to three of the most sensitive scientific facilities in the United States of America.

1. Los Alamos National Laboratory — Los Alamos, New Mexico

Founded in 1943 under the Manhattan Project in the high desert mesas of northern New Mexico, Los Alamos is the birthplace of the atomic bomb. It was here that J. Robert Oppenheimer led the team that split the atom for use in warfare. Today, it employs approximately 15,000 people and manages the entire U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile. Its official mission: "to enhance national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear deterrent." Two of our eleven were connected to Los Alamos.

2. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) — Pasadena, California

JPL, managed by Caltech under a contract with NASA, is America's primary center for robotic exploration of the solar system. It launched the first U.S. satellite in 1958. Today, it manages missions from planetary defense (the DART mission that deflected an asteroid) to deep space observation. JPL researchers hold high-level security clearances. Four of our eleven were connected to JPL.

3. The Kansas City National Security Campus — Kansas City, Missouri

Run by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies for the National Nuclear Security Administration, this facility produces approximately 85% of all non-nuclear components used in the U.S. nuclear weapons arsenal — triggers, arming systems, radar systems, and electronic components. It is, in short, where the weapons are assembled. One of our eleven was connected to this facility.

4. MIT's Plasma Science and Fusion Center — Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Plasma Science and Fusion Center is the leading academic institution in the United States studying nuclear fusion — the same energy that powers the sun. Fusion research, if successful, represents near-limitless clean energy. It is also the frontier of weapons physics. One of our eleven led this center. 

Part Two: The Eleven — Names, Ages, and What Happened

These are real people. They had families, careers, and futures. Their fates — as confirmed by federal agencies, congressional letters, White House press briefings, and major news organizations including CNN, CBS News, and Newsweek — are as follows. The FBI, the Pentagon, and the Department of Energy are currently conducting a joint investigation. As of April 21, 2026, no confirmed connection between the cases has been established. But the cases have not been dismissed either.

President Donald Trump called the situation "pretty serious stuff" after personally receiving a briefing.

1. Michael David Hicks  |  Age Unknown  |  July 2023

Role: Research Scientist — DART Project, Deep Space 1 Mission

Laboratory / Affiliation: NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) — Pasadena, CA — employed 1998–2022

Fate: Died — July 30, 2023

Hicks worked on the DART mission, which in September 2022 became the first mission in human history to alter the orbit of a celestial body — a practice run for planetary defense. He also contributed to the Deep Space 1 mission. His death in 2023 was the first in what would become a pattern. The circumstances have not been made fully public. He is the starting point that the House Oversight Committee letter to the FBI used when it began cataloguing these cases.

2. Frank Maiwald  |  Age 61  |  July 4, 2024

Role: Principal Researcher / Spacecraft Specialist

Laboratory / Affiliation: NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) — Pasadena / Los Angeles, CA

Fate: Died — July 4, 2024

Maiwald died in Los Angeles on the Fourth of July, 2024. No cause of death was ever made public. The only widely available record of his passing is a brief online obituary. No autopsy was publicly reported. He had specialized in space research and mission support. The date — Independence Day — went largely unnoticed at the time.

3. Matthew James Sullivan  |  Age 39  |  2024

Role: Former U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer / UAP Whistleblower

Laboratory / Affiliation: U.S. Air Force / Federal Whistleblower Program

Fate: Died — 2024 (before scheduled court testimony)

Sullivan was preparing to testify in a federal whistleblower case specifically related to UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) research. He died before he could give that testimony. His death drew significant attention from the UFO research community and from members of Congress who had been working to declassify UAP-related programs.

4. Anthony Chavez  |  Age 79  |  May 2025

Role: Retired Scientist

Laboratory / Affiliation: Los Alamos National Laboratory — Los Alamos, NM (retired 2017)

Fate: MISSING since May 8, 2025

Chavez left his home in Los Alamos, New Mexico, on foot. He did not bring his phone, his wallet, or his keys. His car remained locked in the driveway. He has not been seen since. A 79-year-old man walking out of his house into the high desert without identification or communication — and simply vanishing. Certainly not normal.

5. Monica Jacinto Reza  |  Age 60  |  June 22, 2025

Role: Aerospace Engineer / Director of Materials Processing Group

Laboratory / Affiliation: NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) — Pasadena, CA

Fate: MISSING since June 22, 2025

Reza was an accomplished aerospace engineer whose group at JPL focused on developing new materials and advanced manufacturing technologies for spacecraft — including bulk metallic glass alloys and metal additive manufacturing (3D printing) for space applications. She disappeared while hiking in the Mount Waterman area of Angeles National Forest in Los Angeles County. A subsequent search of the forest by authorities found no trace of her.

Critically, her phones had been wiped to factory settings before she went missing. Her purse and keys were left behind. The FBI and House Oversight Committee have flagged this detail as deeply unusual.

6. Melissa Casias  |  Age 53  |  June 26, 2025

Role: Administrative Assistant

Laboratory / Affiliation: Los Alamos National Laboratory — Los Alamos, NM

Fate: MISSING since June 26, 2025

Casias worked in an administrative role at Los Alamos — the world's original nuclear weapons laboratory. Just four days after Reza vanished, Casias disappeared. Her whereabouts remain unknown. A GoFundMe was established for her family. The proximity in dates to the Reza disappearance immediately raised questions among investigators and lawmakers.

7. Steven Garcia  |  Age 48  |  August 28, 2025

Role: Government Contractor — High-Level Security Clearance

Laboratory / Affiliation: Kansas City National Security Campus (produces ~85% of all non-nuclear components for U.S. nuclear weapons) — Albuquerque, NM area

Fate: MISSING since August 28, 2025

Garcia was last seen on surveillance footage leaving his Albuquerque home on foot, carrying a handgun. He left behind his phone, his wallet, his keys, and his car. Authorities initially noted he "may be a danger to himself." He has not been seen since. Garcia's role gave him high-level security clearance and oversight of sensitive assets in the nuclear weapons production chain. 

8. Nuno Loureiro  |  Age 47  |  December 2025

Role: Professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering / Director, Plasma Science and Fusion Center

Laboratory / Affiliation: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) — Brookline, MA

Fate: MURDERED — Shot December 15, 2025; died December 16, 2025

Loureiro was a world-leading figure in fusion energy research. He was born in Portugal and rose to direct MIT's entire Plasma Science and Fusion Center — studying how to harness the same reaction that powers the sun.

 On December 15, 2025, he was shot on the porch of his home in Brookline, Massachusetts. He died the next day. Authorities linked the shooting to a suspect who also opened fire on Brown University's campus days earlier, killing two students. The suspect — a former classmate of Loureiro's from Portugal — died by suicide. Police said the suspect appeared to have a personal grudge. Officials stated they found no evidence that the killing was connected to his nuclear research. The case is officially closed.

9. Carl Grillmair  |  Age 67  |  February 16, 2026

Role: Astrophysicist — NEOWISE and NEO Surveyor Missions

Laboratory / Affiliation: California Institute of Technology (Caltech) / NASA — Los Angeles area, CA

Fate: MURDERED — February 16, 2026

Grillmair was a respected astrophysicist who worked with NASA on NEOWISE — a space telescope that identified near-Earth objects — and the NEO Surveyor mission, designed to detect potentially hazardous asteroids. He was renowned for research on exoplanets and the search for water on planets outside our solar system.

He was fatally shot at his home outside Los Angeles. Authorities arrested a suspect who, according to investigators, did not appear to have known Grillmair personally. The motive remains unclear.

10. Maj. Gen. William 'Neil' McCasland (Ret.)  |  Age Unknown  |  February 27, 2026

Role: Retired U.S. Air Force Major General — Intelligence / UAP Research

Laboratory / Affiliation: U.S. Air Force (retired) — Albuquerque, NM

Fate: MISSING since February 27, 2026

McCasland vanished from his Albuquerque, New Mexico, home on February 27, 2026. He left behind his phone, his prescription glasses, and all wearable devices. His .38 caliber revolver was missing. The FBI is now involved in the search. McCasland was a senior Air Force general with deep ties to intelligence operations and, according to CNN and other sources, was at the center of some UAP (UFO) research and disclosure conversations within the military.

A decorated general does not walk out of his house without glasses and phone by accident.

 11. Jason Thomas  |  Age Unknown  |  March 17, 2026

Role: Pharmaceutical Researcher — Oncology / Cancer Treatments

Laboratory / Affiliation: Novartis Pharmaceuticals — Cancer Research Division

Fate: Died — March 17, 2026

Thomas was a pharmaceutical researcher at Novartis, working on cancer treatment development. His name was included on the official list presented to the White House by a reporter, making him the eleventh-named individual.

While his work was in the pharmaceutical/oncology space rather than in aerospace or nuclear weapons, his inclusion in the federal review suggests investigators may see a connection that has not yet been made public. 

Part Three: What the Government Is Saying Right Now

This is not conjecture. This is the public record as of April 21, 2026:

On April 16, 2026, a reporter at the White House press briefing told Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, "There are now 10 American scientists who have either gone missing or died since mid-2024. They all reportedly had access to classified nuclear or aerospace material." Leavitt confirmed the Trump administration would look into the matter, stating it was "pretty serious stuff" — the President's own words after receiving a personal briefing.

Representatives James Comer and Eric Burlison of the House Oversight Committee sent official letters to the FBI and relevant agencies requesting a comprehensive accounting of all the cases. FBI Director Kash Patel publicly stated the bureau would "pull it all into one place" and work with state and local partners who hold jurisdiction.

The Department of Energy, the Pentagon, and the FBI are now conducting what has been called a "holistic review." As of today, no confirmed connection has been established. That is a factual statement. But an absence of confirmed connection is not the same as an absence of connection.

And a joint review by the FBI, the Pentagon, and the Department of Energy does not happen over a coincidence.

Proverbs 14:12

"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." 

Part Four: The Biblical Framework — What God's Word Says

Now let us open the Word. Because what is happening in the natural is always a reflection of what is happening in the spiritual.

That is the first principle of biblical discernment. We are physical beings living in a physical world, but we are spirit beings created by God, and we wrestle — Paul's word, not mine — we wrestle not against flesh and blood.

The Enemy: Who He Is and How He Operates

1 Peter 5:8

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."

Notice what Peter does NOT say. He does not say the devil makes noise. A lion stalks in silence. The roaring comes at the moment of the kill. What we are watching in these eleven cases — the silence, the missing phones, the wiped devices, the bodies with no cause of death released — this is the pattern of the silent stalk. The adversary does not announce himself. He disguises himself.

2 Corinthians 11:14

"And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

This means the enemy does not always look like an enemy. 

1.        A suicide can be manufactured.

2.      A heart attack can be induced.

3.      A hiker can be disappeared.

4.      A random shooting cannot be so random.

 I am not saying these things are what happened. I am saying the Word of God prepares us to ask the question, because we know the enemy's toolkit. Paul writes:

2 Corinthians 2:11

"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices."

The word "devices" in the Greek is noema — thoughts, schemes, mental strategies. The enemy is not chaotic. He is strategic. He plans. He is ancient and patient. 

And he works through willing human instruments. History is full of them.

Spiritual Warfare in High Places

Ephesians 6:12

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

"High places" — Paul wrote this to the Ephesians, but it reads like a description of security-cleared, classified, top-secret, above-the-law institutions. 

The darkness does not congregate at the bottom. It seeks the heights. It seeks influence, power, and access to the tools of death. The atom bomb is the ultimate tool of mass death. Is it any surprise that the enemy would want access to — or control over — the minds and knowledge of those who hold those tools?

Daniel 10:13

"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia."

The angel sent to Daniel was detained for 21 days by a demonic principality assigned to the nation of Persia. 

The warfare is real. The geopolitics of the ancient world were supervised by spiritual powers. The geopolitics of 2026 are supervised by spiritual powers.

 Russia has nuclear weapons.

 China has nuclear weapons.

Iran has been trying to build nuclear weapons for decades.

The angel of the Lord contends with the princes of darkness in the heavenly realm, and the battles show up as events on the ground.

The Historical Pattern: The Enemy Targets Builders and Defenders

This is not the first time that those who protect a nation have been mysteriously eliminated.

 History offers a pattern:

In the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, a well-documented string of scientists working on Britain's defense projects — particularly the SDI (Star Wars) initiative — died under unusual circumstances. Officially ruled suicides, accidents, and sudden illnesses. The deaths numbered over twenty. They were never conclusively explained.

Iranian nuclear scientists were killed in targeted assassinations between 2010 and 2012 — several by motorcycle-borne assailants who attached magnetic bombs to their cars.

 Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, considered the father of Iran's nuclear weapons program, was killed by a remotely-operated machine gun in November 2020.

The Word of God says there is nothing new under the sun:

Ecclesiastes 1:9

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."

The enemy uses nations. He uses intelligence services. He uses ambitious men who do not fear God. He worked through Pharaoh in Egypt. He worked through Haman in Persia. He worked through Herod when he slaughtered the children of Bethlehem.

AND HE WORKS TODAY.

John 8:44

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

 God's Calendar — What 2026 Means

We are living in a significant moment on God's prophetic calendar. The nation of Israel was reborn in 1948. In 2028, we will mark 80 years — the full measure of a generation, as Psalm 90 records. We are in the final years of what many serious biblical scholars call the generation of which Jesus spoke in Matthew 24:

Matthew 24:6–8

"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

1.     Iran and Israel have exchanged direct strikes.

2.     Russia and Ukraine are in open warfare.

3.     North Korea is supplying artillery to Russia.

4.     China is conducting war games around Taiwan.

The United States is in the middle of all of it — and at the center of its military deterrence is its nuclear arsenal, managed by scientists like the ones we are studying tonight.

Daniel 12:4

"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."

1.       Knowledge has increased.

2.       We put a robot on Mars.

3.       We deflected an asteroid.

4.       We are learning to harness fusion — the power of a star.

5.       And yet the hearts of men have not increased in righteousness.  That is what is so sad.

That combination — maximum knowledge, minimum fear of God — is the most dangerous condition a civilization can be in.

Hosea 4:6

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

Fear Not — The Captain of Our Salvation

Now let me tell you why I gathered you tonight. Not to frighten you. I will not do that. I am forbidden by the Holy Spirit to be an instrument of fear. I am commanded to be an instrument of truth, and truth — real truth, the Word of God — always brings peace, even when it confronts darkness.

Isaiah 41:10

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Hebrews 12:2

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Jesus is the Author and Finisher. He is Alpha and Omega.

 He sees the beginning and the end. He is not surprised by what is happening in 2026. He is not scrambling. He is not holding emergency meetings. He is seated — Hebrews 1:3 says He sat down — at the right hand of the Majesty on High. The war is already won. 

The Book of Revelation is not a book of fear; it is a book of victory with a detailed description of the path to get there.

Psalm 91:1–2

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust."

Psalm 91:7

"A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."

Romans 8:28

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Even this — even the events of 2026, even these eleven people, even the global chaos — is not outside the sovereign hand of God. He is not the author of evil. But He is the Redeemer of all things. He takes the enemy's moves and turns them to glory.

What We Are Called to Do

Ezekiel 22:30

"And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

God is still looking. He is looking for intercessors. He is looking for watchers. He is looking for people who will not be distracted by entertainment, by comfort, by the noise of the world, long enough to stand in the gap for this nation and this world.

That is what this study is — an act of standing in the gap.

2 Chronicles 7:14

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

The promise is to "my people" — not the government, not the military, not the scientists. US. The Church. The Body of Christ. We have been given authority in prayer that no security clearance can match and no enemy can revoke.

Luke 10:19

"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Part Six: The Teacher's Closing — Shine On

I began this study with a simple conviction: I would rather be the person who takes the wheel on the bus than the one who watches it go over the cliff. That is not heroism. That is obedience. 

The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). A sound mind means we look at the facts. Power means we respond in authority, not in panic. Love means we bring others with us.

To my unbelieving friends who may read this study: I am not asking you to accept a political conspiracy. I am inviting you to consider that the world is more than it appears to be, that there is a war behind the news, and that Jesus Christ — the Author and Finisher of our faith — is the only Captain who has already seen the last chapter and declared the ending good. He rose from the dead. He defeated the last enemy. If He can handle death itself, He can handle 2026.

To my Bible students: stand in the gap. Pray for this nation. Pray for the families of these eleven people. Pray for the investigators. Pray for discernment in high places. And put on the full armor of God, because we are not fighting a physical battle. We are fighting a spiritual one.

Ephesians 6:13–14

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness."

Revelation 12:11

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."

We overcome. That is the Word of the Lord. Not we survive. Not we cope. Not we endure. WE OVERCOME.
