Astrology Is the Counterfeit — Here’s the Original God Wrote in the Stars

The Mazzaroth vs. Astrology
The Mazzaroth is the Gospel written in the stars before a single word of Scripture existed — 12 constellations, 36 decans, and thousands of star names that uniformly tell the story of a coming Redeemer who would be born of a virgin, crushed by the serpent, and rise to reign as King.
Astrology is what Babylon made of it after stripping out the Author. They share the same sky. They do not share the same message. One points to Christ. One points to you. Understanding the difference is not a minor theological footnote — it is the difference between worshipping the Creator and worshipping the creation.

The Counterfeit Argument
Every counterfeit in existence proves two things simultaneously — that the original is real, and that the original is valuable enough to fake.
There is no counterfeit of Monopoly money. Nobody counterfeits buttons. You only counterfeit what has genuine worth.
The fact that Satan took the Mazzaroth — God's celestial Gospel — and corrupted it into horoscopes, astrology, and divination is the strongest possible evidence that the original was real and powerful. If it were meaningless, he would not have bothered.
The Pattern of Counterfeits
The Tabernacle → corrupted into pagan temple worship
Baptism → mystery religion water initiation rites
The Lord's Supper → pagan sacred meal rituals
Blood Sacrifice → imitated with human sacrifice
The Resurrection → dying-and-rising god myths
The Mazzaroth → corrupted into astrology
Real first. Counterfeit second. The Mazzaroth was God's first. Astrology came after — a corruption, not an origin.
The God of the Stars Made the Distinction
God does not prohibit things He never authorized. He prohibits things that are corruptions of things He did authorize. He mocked the Babylonian astrologers in Isaiah 47 — but He is the same God who created the very stars they were misusing.
What God Did With the Stars
Genesis 1:14 — He made the stars for signs
Isaiah 40:26 — He named every one of them
Job 38:32 — He wrote the Mazzaroth in them
Genesis 15:5 — He told Abram to count them as a promise
Matthew 2 — He set the Star of Bethlehem as a sign
Revelation 12 — He put celestial signs in prophecy
The Core Distinction
God's Design
The stars point TO the Creator, tell HIS story, glorify HIM
Satan's Corruption
The stars replace the Creator, tell YOUR story, glorify YOU and the creation itself
Romans 1:25 — "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the CREATURE more than the Creator."
God never said "stop looking at stars." He said "stop using stars to replace Me."
Scripture Itself Reads the Stars
If reading the stars is always pagan, you have a serious problem — because the Bible does it constantly. Consider these four direct challenges:
The Magi — Matthew 2:1-2
God PUT that star there. God INTENDED them to follow it. They were not condemned — they were the first Gentiles to worship the incarnate Christ. If star-reading is always pagan, Matthew 2 is a story about pagans accidentally stumbling into worship — which is absurd.
Abraham — Genesis 15:5
God directed Abraham to look at the stars and receive a message from them. That is reading the stars. If that is astrology, God commanded astrology — which is impossible. Therefore reading the stars is not inherently astrology.
Joel the Prophet — Joel 2:30-31
Joel is reading coming celestial events as signs of God's purposes. Jesus quotes this in Luke 21:25: "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars." Jesus told His disciples to read the stars for signs of His return.
God Himself — Job 38:32
"Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?" God references the Mazzaroth as part of His OWN creative handiwork — in the same breath as the foundations of the earth, the morning stars, and the treasury of snow. He is not describing a pagan invention. He is describing HIS OWN work.
Side by Side — The Real Differences
I Lay this out plainly so there is no confusion. These are not two versions of the same thing. They are opposites wearing the same costume.

The Deuteronomy 18 Test
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 — "...an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD."
The Hebrew phrase "observer of times" (me'onen) refers to someone who reads omens from the stars to DETERMINE WHAT YOU SHOULD DO — using the creation to replace divine revelation and prayer as your source of guidance.
The Mazzaroth Does None of These Things
Does NOT tell you what career to choose
Does NOT predict your marriage
Does NOT reveal your "moon sign"
Does NOT replace prayer, Scripture, or the Holy Spirit
The Mazzaroth is a historical and prophetic narrative encoded in the sky — no different in kind from reading prophecy in the book of Isaiah.
The test is simple: Are you using the stars to replace God, or to find God? Every legitimate use of the stars in Scripture moves you TOWARD God. Astrology moves you away from God and toward self-reliance on the creation.
The Ancient Word for Astrology
ASTROLOGIA
ASTRON (ἄστρον) = Star
LOGOS (λόγος) = The Word
"In the beginning was the LOGOS, and the Logos was with God, and the Logos was God. All things were made by Him."
— John 1:1
The Original Meaning
The LOGOS — Jesus Christ — is the one who MADE the ASTRON — the stars. He wrote Himself into them. The Mazzaroth is literally the Logos written in the astron. That is not a play on words. That is the original meaning of the compound word that became "astrology."
Satan did not invent astrology. He stole it, gutted the Logos out of it, replaced God's narrative with human fortune-telling, and handed the corrupted shell back to humanity under the same name.
The Mazzaroth IS the original astrologia
The Word of God written in the stars — before Babylon, before Greece, before any human civilization corrupted it.
The Hebrew Words — One Letter Apart
There are two Hebrew words in the Old Testament that are almost identical — and the difference between them tells the whole story.
מַזָּרוֹת — MAZZAROTH
Job 38:32 — God's own word for the 12 signs, spoken from the whirlwind
Root: nazar — to be separated, set apart, consecrated
The set-apart, consecrated witness in the sky. Holy. Authored by God. Telling the story of the coming Holy One.
מַזָּלוֹת — MAZZALOTH
2 Kings 23:5 — The corrupted zodiac torn down by King Josiah
"He put down the idolatrous priests who burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the MAZZALOTH, and to all the host of heaven."
Same root. Nearly identical word. One letter different. One is holy — one is condemned.
The difference is not the stars. The difference is what you do with them and whose story you are telling. Mazzaroth — consecrated to God, telling His story. Mazzaloth — corrupted into idol worship, telling the creation's story instead.
The Timeline of the Word
From the original astrologia to the corrupted counterfeit — and back to the truth through the Magi, Daniel, and the Logos Himself.
The Original
God writes the Logos into the stars before Genesis 1:1. The Mazzaroth exists — telling the story of the coming Redeemer. This is the true astrologia.
The Corruption
Babylon rises. Chaldean priests take the star-system and redirect it from God's story to human fortune. The Akkadian astrologer-priests strip the Gospel out and fill the void with divination, fate, and false gods.
The Separation
The Greeks split "astrologia" into two disciplines: Astronomia (scientific study) and Astrologia (divination). Originally it was ONE WORD for ONE PRACTICE — reading the heavens as God's message.
Daniel in Babylon
Daniel outperformed every astrologer in Babylon — not by using their corrupt system, but by going back to the SOURCE. He prayed. He received revelation from God. He is the picture of what you do with the Mazzaroth.
The Magi
Custodians of Daniel's teaching for five centuries. When Jupiter made its triple conjunction with Regulus in 3-2 BC, they recognized it — and followed the star to worship the King of the Jews.
Now
Astronomy kept the science and lost the message. Astrology kept the corruption and lost the truth. The Mazzaroth is what existed before both — the complete original, pointing to Christ.
Who Named the Stars?
Isaiah 40:26 — "Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath CREATED these things, that BRINGETH OUT THEIR HOST BY NUMBER: he CALLETH THEM ALL BY NAMES by the greatness of his might."
God named the stars. Not the Babylonians. Not the Greeks. Not the Egyptians. God named them — and the Hebrew and Arabic names that E.W. Bullinger and Frances Rolleston documented in the 19th century uniformly and consistently tell the story of the Redeemer. That is not coincidence. That is authorship.
The One-Sentence Weapon
"Astrology literally means 'the Word of the Stars.' The Word is Jesus — John 1:1. He wrote Himself into the stars before Genesis. Satan counterfeited it and stripped the Word out. I am not reading the counterfeit. I am reading the original — which is exactly what the Magi did when they followed the star to Bethlehem and worshipped the King."
The Final Closer
"What matters is not the medium — it is who is being glorified. Astrology glorifies the creation and the self. The Mazzaroth glorifies the Creator and His Son. I know the difference. And so does God."
When you read the Mazzaroth, you are not practicing astrology. You are reading what the Author wrote. The stars are His canvas. The Gospel is His message. The Logos is His signature.
