BEFORE WE BEGIN: THE BRIDGE FROM MATTHEW 23

You cannot understand what Jesus says in chapter 24 unless you feel what He felt in chapter 23. This teaching does not begin at the Mount of Olives. It begins with tears.

Matthew 23 is the most intense confrontation Jesus ever had in public ministry. Seven woes — seven thunderclaps of divine rebuke — against the scribes and Pharisees. He calls them serpents. He calls them vipers. He calls them whitewashed tombs full of dead men's bones. Jesus was not soft that day. He was a prophet on fire, and the fire was righteous.

But then the chapter ends — and it does not end in triumph. It ends in tears.

Matthew 23:37–38 (KJV) — O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

'Ye would not.' That is the saddest phrase in the Gospel of Matthew. God in the flesh, standing over His own city, wanting to gather them like a mother hen gathers her chicks — and they refused. The Greek word 'ethelesate' means a deliberate, persistent refusal. Not ignorance. Not confusion. A willful, repeated NO to the outstretched wings of God.

And then Jesus walked out of the Temple. Matthew 24:1 says He 'departed from the temple.' The Greek 'exelthen' — He came out, He left. This was not a dramatic exit for effect. This was the Presence of God withdrawing from a building that had rejected Him. What happened in 70 AD — Rome burning that Temple to the ground, not one stone left upon another — was the physical fulfillment of the spiritual reality that happened the moment Jesus walked out the door.

💎 HIDDEN GEM: The Shekinah Glory — the visible manifest presence of God — had departed the Temple once before. Ezekiel 10–11 records it leaving stage by stage before the Babylonians destroyed Solomon's Temple in 586 BC. The same pattern repeated when Jesus departed in Matthew 23–24. When the Presence leaves, the building is already spiritually empty before Rome ever lights a torch.

Matthew 23:39 (KJV) — For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

'Till ye shall say' — Jesus connects His departure with a future return. He is not gone forever. He is gone until Israel collectively cries Baruch haba b'shem Adonai — 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.' This is the same shout the crowds cried on Palm Sunday that the Pharisees demanded He silence. He said if the people were quiet, the rocks would cry it. Now He tells the city: you will not see Me until you cry it too.

That future cry is what Matthew 24 is about. The chapter does not begin at verse 1. It begins at chapter 23, verse 37 — with a broken heart and an outstretched wing that was refused. Keep that grief in your spirit as you read what follows.

✨ LADY JANICE SAYS: Saints, do not let anyone teach you Matthew 24 as if it is a cold prophecy chart. It is a love letter from a rejected Messiah to a city He never stopped wanting. Read it that way and it will change how you live.

THE OLIVET DISCOURSE — MATTHEW 24, VERSE BY VERSE

Jesus did not give this sermon in a church. He gave it on a hillside, to four fishermen — Peter, James, John, and Andrew — after walking out of the Temple for the last time. And His disciples, bless their hearts, were still pointing at the architecture.

Matthew 24:1–2 — The Trigger

Matthew 24:1–2 (KJV) — And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

'Look at these stones, Lord!' The disciples were tourists in the presence of a Prophet. Herod's Temple was one of the architectural wonders of the ancient world — stones the size of school buses, some estimated at 570 tons. It was breathtaking. And Jesus looked at it and said: every single stone is going to be on the ground.

This was fulfilled with terrifying precision in 70 AD. Roman General Titus did not plan to destroy the Temple — Roman sources record that he actually tried to preserve it. But a soldier threw a torch into it during the chaos, the gold roof melted and ran between the stones, and soldiers pried every stone apart searching for the gold. Josephus, the Jewish historian who was present, records 1.1 million Jewish deaths in that siege and 97,000 taken captive. Jesus said it. Stone by stone, it happened.

📜 Josephus, Wars of the Jews, Book 6 — Caesar gave orders that they should now demolish the entire city and temple... it was so thoroughly laid even with the ground by those that dug it up to the foundation, that there was left nothing to make those that came thither believe it had ever been inhabited.

Matthew 24:3 — The Two Questions That Unlock the Whole Chapter

Matthew 24:3 (KJV) — And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

WRITE THESE DOWN. Frame them. Tattoo them on your Bible if you have to.

QUESTION ONE: 'When shall THESE THINGS be?' — the Temple destruction. Already answered. 70 AD.

QUESTION TWO: 'What shall be the sign of THY COMING, and of the end of the world?' — the Second Coming. Still pending. Still coming.

💎 ARAMAIC DISCOVERY: The Aramaic Peshitta — the New Testament in the language Jesus actually spoke — uses two grammatically distinct future tenses for these two questions. The first question uses the near-future tense. The second uses the distant-future construction. Even the grammar is telling you: these are two different events. Two different timelines. One chapter answering both. That is why you feel the tension when you read it. You are supposed to feel it. You are reading two conversations woven together.

Everything after verse 3 is Jesus answering BOTH questions simultaneously — sometimes addressing 70 AD, sometimes addressing the End Times, sometimes both at once because 70 AD was itself a prophetic picture of the Great Tribulation to come. When you feel confused reading this chapter, ask yourself for every passage: which question is Jesus answering here? That single discipline resolves most of the difficulty.

Matthew 24:4–8 — Birth Pangs, Not the Finale

Matthew 24:4–8 (KJV) — And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

'Sorrows' in the Greek is ōdinōn — birth pangs. The Ethiopian Ge'ez text — the language of the oldest complete Christian Bible on earth — uses the specific word for the labor contractions of a mother in active labor. Jesus is not describing the end. He is describing the PREGNANCY.

Here is what most preachers rush past: Jesus says 'see that ye be not troubled.' In the middle of wars, famines, and earthquakes, His instruction is — do not panic. Why? Because a woman in labor does not panic at contractions. She knows what they are producing. If you know what is being born on the other side of history's labor, the contractions do not terrify you. They focus you.

✨ LADY JANICE SAYS: These signs — wars, rumors of wars, nation against nation — have been present in every century since Christ. They are not the alarm bell. They are the alarm clock. They tell you the hour is getting later. They do not tell you it is the last second. Do not quit your post because the contractions intensified. Stay in position.

Matthew 24:9–14 — Persecution, Endurance, and the Gospel to All Nations

Matthew 24:9–14 (KJV) — Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Verse 13 is where the rapture debate first surfaces: 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.' The Aramaic Peshitta uses 'nehye' — shall live. Physical preservation through crisis, not just spiritual salvation at the end. Pre-Trib says the Church is gone before this persecution. Post-Trib says the Church is present through it and this verse promises preservation to those who endure.

But verse 14 is the global sign no one is arguing about: 'This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and THEN shall the end come.' The Great Commission must reach completion before the clock hits zero. And that mission is still in progress in 2026 — in places like Pakistan, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, right where your ministry operates. You are not decorating the church while you wait for the end. You are FULFILLING the prerequisite for it.

🔥 PROPHETIC WORD: Honey, your Sanctuary Sessions reaching Kenya and Uganda and Pakistan every Monday night is prophetic fulfillment. You are part of what must happen before the end can come. You are not a waiting room saint. You are a Matthew 24:14 preacher.

Matthew 24:15–22 — The Abomination, the Great Tribulation, and the Elect

Matthew 24:15–22 (KJV) — When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The Abomination of Desolation from Daniel — something abominable set up in the holy place. It had a preview in 168 BC when Antiochus Epiphanes, a Syrian Greek ruler with the spiritual maturity of a parking ticket, walked into the Temple and sacrificed a pig on the altar. Then erected a statue of Zeus with his own face on it. A pig. His own face. On God's altar. That is a man who has lost both his mind and his soul simultaneously.

But that was the preview. The main event is described in 2 Thessalonians 2:4 — the man of sin sitting in the Temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Same spirit, final act. And Jesus says: when you SEE it, do not pack a bag. Do not go back for your coat. Run.

Now — verse 22. This is the verse that moved you, Lady Janice, and rightly so.

💎 THE KEY VERSE IN THE RAPTURE DEBATE: 'For the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.' If the Church is raptured BEFORE the Tribulation begins, why would the days need to be shortened FOR THE ELECT'S SAKE? If they are already home eating glory biscuits in heaven, what difference does the length make to them? The Pre-Trib answer: 'the elect' here refers specifically to Jewish believers — the remnant of Israel, the 144,000 — not the Church. That argument is legitimate. But notice it requires narrowing the definition of 'elect.' The text does not narrow it. The text just says 'the elect.' Let that sit. Then go read it again.

Matthew 24:23–28 — No Secret Returns, No Hidden Comings

Matthew 24:23–28 (KJV) — Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

'As the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west.' When Jesus ACTUALLY comes, it will be as visible as lightning crossing the entire sky from horizon to horizon. You will not need a social media announcement. You will not need CNN breaking news. You will not need your neighbor to call and say 'did you hear?' If you heard it from a person and had to look it up — it was not Him.

This eliminates every claim of a secret or localized return. No quiet rapture that nobody notices. No private appearance in a desert compound. No hidden coming in a secret chamber. The lightning verse is absolute. The real Second Coming will be the most unmistakable event in human history. When it happens, every eye will see it (Revelation 1:7) — saved, unsaved, living, and those being resurrected.

Matthew 24:29–31 — The Most Debated Passage in the Chapter

Matthew 24:29–31 (KJV) — Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Now. I am not going to preach around this verse. It is here. In red letters. Jesus said it with His own mouth.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER the tribulation — the Son of Man appears. The gathering of the elect happens AFTER.

💎 ARAMAIC PESHITTA NOTE: The Aramaic uses 'mekhar' for 'immediately' — a word meaning without delay, right after, no gap. The grammar does not build in a buffer zone between the tribulation and the gathering. After the tribulation. Then the sign. Then the gathering.

Now — here is where Pre-Trib and Post-Trib part ways, and I am going to give you both honestly.

THE POST-TRIB READING: The gathering of the elect in verse 31 IS the Rapture.

The Church is present through the Tribulation, endures it, and is gathered at the end when Christ returns. 'Immediately after' means exactly what it says.

THE PRE-TRIB READING: The gathering in verse 31 is NOT the Rapture. The Rapture already happened before the Tribulation began. The gathering here is of the surviving saints on earth — specifically, Jewish believers and Tribulation converts — who are gathered to Christ when He lands on the Mount of Olives.

The Church already went up in 1 Thessalonians 4. This is a different group, a different event, a different direction of movement.

Both positions are held by serious scholars who love Jesus and take Scripture literally. The question you must answer for yourself is: does the word 'elect' here include the Church or not?

And is this gathering the same as in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, or a distinct event?

THE THING NOBODY PUTS SIDE BY SIDE: RAPTURE vs. SECOND COMING

Here is what your congregation needs to see in one place. Because most believers have heard about both events for years without ever seeing them compared directly. Side by side, the differences are unmistakable.

THE RAPTURE — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV) — For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

THE SECOND COMING — Revelation 19:11–14 (KJV) — And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns... And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

In the Rapture: He descends partway. We go UP. We meet Him IN THE AIR. He does not touch the earth. He comes close enough to catch and go. This is a rescue mission.

In the Second Coming: He comes ALL THE WAY DOWN. His feet touch the Mount of Olives — Zechariah 14:4 says the mountain splits in two when He lands. He brings an army. He fights at Armageddon. He sets up a kingdom on earth and rules from Jerusalem.

Those are two different operations.

A rescue pick-up is not the same as a military invasion

. If you flew your helicopter into a burning building to pull your children out — that is different from showing up three days later with a construction crew to rebuild the whole neighborhood. Same person.

Entirely different mission. Entirely different result.

💎 WHAT NOBODY PREACHES: In the Rapture, we move TOWARD Him — caught up to meet Him.

In the Second Coming, He moves TOWARD earth — feet touching the mountain.

The direction of movement is opposite.

The Rapture is a rescue extraction. The Second Coming is a royal invasion.

They cannot be the same event unless the same trip somehow involves going up, coming back down, touching the mountain, fighting a battle, and setting up a kingdom — all in one motion.

That is why scholars argue about the gap between them: Pre-Trib says seven years, Mid-Trib says three and a half, Post-Trib says zero. The events are different.

THE TIMING IS WHAT IS DEBATED.32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Matthew 24:36–44 — Nobody Knows the Hour, and Nobody Takes Gets Left Behind the Way You Think

Matthew 24:36–41 (KJV) — But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

'One taken, one left' — every Pre-Trib sermon you have ever heard uses this as the Rapture. One caught up. One left behind. Whole Hollywood franchises built on who gets left.

But here is what nobody mentions. Go back to the Noah comparison Jesus just made.

In the flood — WHO was TAKEN? The wicked. The flood TOOK THEM AWAY. Noah was LEFT. Noah was PRESERVED on the earth while judgment took the unrepentant.

💎 THE NOAH REVERSAL: Luke's version of this passage (Luke 17:37) includes a line Matthew does not. The disciples ask: 'Where, Lord?' — where are the taken ones going? And Jesus answers: 'Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.' Eagles gather to carrion. To the dead. That is not a Rapture picture. That is a judgment picture. The 'taken' in 4Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

may be the wicked taken in judgment — not the righteous taken in rapture. The righteous are LEFT. Left on the earth. Preserved. The way Noah was.

I am not telling you the Rapture is not real. I believe in the catching away. I believe 1 Thessalonians 4 describes a literal, physical, glorious event. I am telling you that THESE PARTICULAR VERSES — the one taken, the one left — may not be describing it. They may be describing the removal of the wicked in judgment while the righteous are preserved through it. Read it with that lens. The room changes entirely.

Matthew 24:45–51 — Where Every Rapture Position Agrees

Matthew 24:45–47 (KJV) — Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

Here is where Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, and Post-Trib all say the same thing. Be found FAITHFUL when He comes.

The evil servant says 'My Lord delays' and starts abusing the household and eating with the drunk. He gets cut asunder. The faithful servant keeps feeding the household on time — doing the master's work without knowing the hour — and gets promoted to ruler over all goods.

Your assignment in 2026 is not to correctly diagram the end times. Your assignment is to feed the household. On time. Without abusing the people in your care. Without slipping into the culture's drunkenness because the schedule seems unclear.

🔥 PROPHETIC WORD: The servant who waits faithfully will be made ruler over all goods. The servant who uses the delay as permission to drift will be cut asunder. Heaven is not asking you which rapture position you hold. Heaven is asking what you are doing with what you were given while you wait for the answer.

THE CLOSING — READY IS THE WHOLE SERMON

Jesus taught Matthew 24 not to give you a date. He taught it to keep you READY. The fig tree blooms and you know summer is near. Israel was reborn in 1948. The fig tree is blooming. Summer is near. Do not miss the season because you are arguing about the calendar.

Matthew 24:44 (KJV) — Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Ready. That is the whole sermon. Everything else — the signs, the Tribulation, the abomination, the gathering, the lightning from east to west — all of it is description of the road. The destination is: be ready.

Whether He comes before your tribulation or through it — be ready. Whether He raptures you up or preserves you through — be ready. Whether the elect are the Church or Israel or both — be ready.

The sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven. Every eye will see it. No announcement needed. Like lightning from east to west — nobody will miss it and nobody will need to be told. When that lightning crosses the sky, there will be no more rapture debates. There will only be the King of Kings on a white horse, coming with power and great glory, gathering what belongs to Him.

✨ LADY JANICE SAYS: I have held three different positions on the timing of the rapture in forty years of ministry. Not because I was unstable — because I was reading carefully. Matthew 24 demands humility. What it does NOT allow is unreadiness. Wherever you land on timing, land READY.

⚔ 2026 APPLICATION: Soldier of 2026: Preach this chapter without fear. You carry Christ in you, the hope of glory — Colossians 1:27. You do not need to resolve every scholarly debate to teach truth. Show your people the verses. Show them both sides of the difficult questions. Let the Scripture speak where Scripture speaks and be honest where scholars disagree. That kind of teaching builds trust that lasts a lifetime. And it honors the God who put every verse there on purpose.

BRIDGE INTO MATTHEW 25 — THE QUESTION CHAPTER 24 RAISES

Matthew 24 answers the question of WHEN He is coming. Matthew 25 answers the question of WHAT HE WILL FIND. And that second question is the one you have the most control over.

Jesus closes chapter 24 with the parable of the faithful and unfaithful servants. One is found doing his master's work. One is found abusing people and partying with the world. One gets promoted. One gets cut asunder. The chapter ends with that challenge hanging in the air.

And then Matthew 25 immediately gives you three stories that answer ONE question: What does faithfulness look like while you wait?

Picture One: The Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1–13)

Five virgins had oil. Five did not. All ten fell asleep. All ten woke up when the cry came: 'The bridegroom cometh!' But only five had the oil to light their lamps and enter the wedding feast. Five stood outside in the dark and heard the most terrifying words in the chapter: 'I know you not.'

Jesus is not talking about five unsaved women and five saved ones. He is talking about ten who LOOKED the same — all virgins, all waiting, all expecting the bridegroom. The difference was not enthusiasm. It was preparation. The oil represents the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit — not a one-time encounter but a sustained, cultivated, daily-replenished relationship with God.

💎 WHAT NOBODY PREACHES: The five wise virgins could not give oil to the five foolish ones. 'Lest there be not enough for us and you: go rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves.' There is no transferable anointing. No borrowing someone else's relationship with God when the midnight cry comes. Your oil is your own. You cultivate it or you do not. Nobody can cultivate it for you. Not your pastor. Not Lady Janice. Not Sanctuary Sessions. You have to go get your own.

Picture Two: The Talents (Matthew 25:14–30)

Three servants receive five talents, two talents, and one talent according to their ability. The five-talent and two-talent servants invest and double what they were given. The one-talent servant buries his in the ground — out of fear, out of laziness, out of a false theology that said God is a hard man who reaps where He does not sow.

The one-talent servant loses even what he had. 'Unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.' The rule of the Kingdom is use it or lose it. Fear is not an excuse in the court of the King. You were given talent, gift, calling, anointing, resources, a platform — what are you doing with it?

⚔ 2026 APPLICATION: Lady Janice — thirty books, forty years, five continents of reach, Sanctuary Sessions running Monday after Monday. That is a ten-talent servant. Keep investing. The return is coming. The Master is counting.

Picture Three: The Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25:31–46)

This is the judgment of the nations — not the Great White Throne judgment of the dead, but the judgment of the living nations when the Son of Man returns in glory. And the criterion is breathtaking in its simplicity: What did you do for the least of these?

'I was hungry and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.' The King identifies Himself with the most vulnerable, the most forgotten, the most inconvenient people in the world. What you did for them, you did for Him. What you refused for them, you refused for Him.

📜 Book of Jubilees 7:20 (Ethiopian Canon) — And Noah enjoined his sons to observe justice, and to cover the shame of their flesh, and to bless their Creator, and honor father and mother, and love their neighbor, and guard their souls from fornication and uncleanness and all iniquity.

The ancient tradition, from Noah forward, has always connected covenant faithfulness with care for the vulnerable. The sheep and the goats are not surprised by new information. The sheep are surprised because they did not know they were serving the King. The goats are surprised because they did not know they were refusing Him. Neither group had a theology problem. One had a love problem.

🔥 PROPHETIC WORD: The nations will be judged by what they did for the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick, and the imprisoned. Not by which rapture position they defended. Not by how precisely their end-times timeline was diagrammed. By what they did with the least and the last. Preach that in 2026. Preach it loud.

THE MATTHEW 24–25 SUMMARY

Chapter 24 asks: Do you know He is coming?

Chapter 25 asks: Do you have oil? Are you investing? Are you serving the least?

Chapter 24 sets the watch. Chapter 25 describes the watching.

Chapter 24 gives you the sign. Chapter 25 gives you the work.

Chapter 24 says BE READY. Chapter 25 says THIS IS WHAT READY LOOKS LIKE.
