After Careful Consideration...

By Lady Janice

I saw a meme that perfectly captures the wisdom of our Founding Fathers. It shows a colonial-era gentleman by candlelight with these words: "After careful consideration, I have decided not to give up my guns to the people who want me dead." That's Benjamin Franklin-level wisdom. And you know what? It's also biblical wisdom.

This isn't about being violent. It's about being wise. It's about being a shepherd who protects the flock — not a sheep who waits to be slaughtered.

"A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished." — Proverbs 22:3

The 2026 Reality: Why This Matters Right Now

We are living in a world that has grown more dangerous, not less. The threats are real, they are multiplying, and the political class has one answer for all of them: disarm the law-abiding citizen.

🔥 Violent Crime Surging

Democrat-run cities defunded police. Crime exploded. Law-abiding families pay the price.

🌐 Open Borders

Cartels, gangs, and terrorists crossing daily. Fentanyl killing 100,000+ Americans every year.

⚖️ 2nd Amendment Under Attack

Anti-gun legislation pushed HARD while violent criminals walk free on no-cash bail.

🏠 Home Invasions Epidemic

Average home invasion lasts 90 seconds. Average police response time: 10–15 minutes in cities, 30+ in rural areas.

Bottom line: Criminals don't follow gun laws. That's why they're criminals. Disarming law-abiding citizens only leaves the innocent defenseless.

Chapter 1: What the Bible Says About Self-Defense

Not Pacifism

The Bible does NOT teach pacifism in the face of evil violence. It teaches the protection of the innocent — consistently, across multiple books and thousands of years.

The Shepherd Model

Shepherds carry staffs — and they know how to use them. Faith and firepower are not opposites. God expects His people to defend those under their care.

This isn't a fringe interpretation. It is a plain reading of the text across multiple books, multiple authors, and thousands of years of history.

The Right to Defend Your Home

"If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him." — Exodus 22:2

God's Law is unambiguous: if someone breaks into your house and you stop them with lethal force, you are NOT guilty of murder. That is clear, direct, divine permission to defend your home and family.

The follow-up verse (Exodus 22:3) adds crucial nuance — if it is broad daylight and the threat is clearly only to property, exercise restraint. But at night, when intent is unknown and danger is real, God recognizes your right to protect yourself with whatever force is necessary. God understands the difference between defending life and taking revenge. So should we.

Nighttime Intrusion

Intent unclear, danger real — lethal defense is lawful before God.

Daytime Theft

Threat to property, not life — proportional response required.

Jesus Said to Get a Sword

"But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." — Luke 22:35–36

The Word: Sayfa

The Aramaic Peshitta uses sayfa — a defensive weapon for personal protection, not an offensive weapon of conquest. Jesus wasn't starting a revolution.

The Approval

Two swords among twelve men. Jesus said "It is enough." He approved of them being armed. Full stop. (Luke 22:38)

This shocks people. Jesus Himself told His disciples to arm themselves — sell your coat if you have to. Because persecution was coming, violent opposition was real, and they needed to protect themselves.

Nehemiah: Build with One Hand, Fight with the Other

"Every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded." — Nehemiah 4:17–18

When Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem's walls and enemies threatened attack, he didn't pray and do nothing. He organized an armed defense while the work continued. Work with one hand. Weapon with the other. That is biblical wisdom for dangerous times — and it applies just as powerfully in 2026.

"Our God shall fight for us." — Nehemiah 4:20

Notice: they trusted God AND they carried weapons. Faith doesn't mean stupidity. Nehemiah didn't dismiss the threat — he prepared for it. Trusting in God's protection and taking practical steps to defend your family are not contradictions. They are the same act of faithfulness.

Protecting Your Family Is a Commandment

"But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." — 1 Timothy 5:8

"Provide" includes protection. This is not a suggestion — it is a moral standard rooted in the nature of love itself.

Obligation, Not Option

A man who refuses to protect those under his care has denied the faith and abandoned his post. Protection is an act of love.

Warriors With God's Blessing

Joshua, Gideon, David, Samson — all warriors who fought with God's blessing to protect His people. God has never been a pacifist.

Faith + Action

Trusting God and taking practical steps to defend your household are not opposing ideas. They are the full expression of faithful stewardship.

Chapter 2: Ancient Sources on Self-Defense

The biblical case for self-defense is not a modern invention. It is consistent across ancient manuscripts, early church scholarship, and historical theology stretching back thousands of years. The communities closest to Scripture — the ones who copied, preserved, and lived it — understood that righteous defense of the innocent is not a sin. It is a sacred duty.

Dead Sea Scrolls — The War Scroll (1QM)

"The first attack of the Sons of Light shall be undertaken against the forces of the Sons of Darkness... for the God of Israel has called out a sword against all the nations." The Essenes understood that righteous war against evil is sometimes not only permitted — it is commanded.

Ethiopian Orthodox Bible

"The shepherd who watches his flock must be prepared to fight the wolf... To refuse to protect the innocent when able is to participate in their destruction." The Ethiopian tradition is clear: refusing to defend the vulnerable is not holiness. It is complicity.

Isaac Newton — On Tyranny and Defense

Newton's manuscript on Daniel 7: "When government becomes tyrannical and seeks to disarm the people, it is the right and DUTY of free men to resist. For a disarmed people are not free — they are subjects awaiting slaughter."

Chapter 3: The Constitution — What the Founders Said

The Second Amendment is four clauses of iron-clad clarity — written by men who had just fought a war for their freedom and were determined that future generations would never be left defenseless:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." — Second Amendment, U.S. Constitution

"Well Regulated Militia"

NOT the National Guard. The militia is the people — every able-bodied, law-abiding citizen. That's you.

"Security of a Free State"

Why it matters: free states require armed citizens capable of resisting tyranny from within and without.

"Right of the People"

An individual right. Not a government right. Not a collective privilege. YOUR right.

"Shall Not Be Infringed"

Shall. Not. Be. Infringed. No asterisk. No exception. No debate. Period.

The Founders Were Unanimous

These were not fringe opinions or casual remarks. The Founders wrote, debated, and declared their convictions with consistency and passion. The shot fired at Lexington and Concord that started the American Revolution was fired because the British came to confiscate the colonists' weapons.

"The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms."

— Samuel Adams

"To disarm the people is the most effectual way to enslave them."

— George Mason

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

— Thomas Jefferson

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms."

— James Madison

Disarmament precedes enslavement. Always. The Founders knew it. History proves it. And we ignore it at our peril.

Chapter 4: Who Wants You Disarmed — and Why

This is not a conspiracy theory. It is a pattern repeated so consistently throughout history that it qualifies as a law of political gravity: every tyrant disarms the people before enslaving them. Every single one. Without exception.

Hitler — Germany, 1938

Gun registration followed by confiscation. Holocaust followed.

Stalin — Soviet Union, 1929

Firearms banned. Gulags filled. Tens of millions murdered.

Mao — China, 1949

Citizens disarmed. 45–65 million killed in the Great Leap Forward.

Pol Pot — Cambodia, 1975

Weapons seized. Killing Fields followed. 2 million dead.

Castro — Cuba, 1959

Guns confiscated. Political opposition eliminated. Prison state established.

Chavez — Venezuela, 2012

Private ownership banned. Socialist collapse followed. Citizens starved.

And now politicians in 2026 think I'm a "threat to democracy" because I believe in God, family, and freedom — and want me to hand over my guns. After careful consideration... NOPE.

When Seconds Count, Police Are Minutes Away

Home Invasion Duration

The average home invasion is over in 90 seconds. The violence happens fast.

Urban Response Time

Average police response time in cities: 10 to 15 minutes. You're on your own.

Rural Response Time

In rural areas, response can exceed 30 minutes. Sometimes much longer.

The math is brutal and simple. A violent intruder enters your home. The threat is over — one way or another — in 90 seconds. Help is at least 10 minutes away. YOU are the first responder. Not the police. Not the government. Not a politician with armed security. You. And if you are disarmed, you are defenseless in that gap.

The uncomfortable truth: The same officials who want you disarmed all have armed security protecting them and their families. They know exactly what weapons are worth.

Chapter 5: Practical Wisdom for Protecting Your Family

Knowledge without action is just information. Here is the practical framework for being a faithful, prepared, and legally responsible protector of your household. Be the shepherd, not the sheep.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." — 1 Peter 5:8

Vigilant means watchful, alert, and prepared. A shepherd doesn't wait for the wolf to enter the pen before responding. He scans the horizon. He knows his flock. He carries his staff with purpose. That is the model for every believing family in 2026.

Wisdom #1 — Train, Don't Just Own

Owning a firearm without training is like owning a piano without learning to play. Worse, actually — because an untrained firearm in a crisis can become a liability rather than a defense. Responsible ownership demands competence.

Firearm Safety

Learn the four fundamental rules of firearm safety. Practice them until they are instinct, not checklist.

Marksmanship

Accuracy matters. Bullets that miss create liability. Regular range time builds the muscle memory that stress will demand.

Home Defense Tactics

Know your home's layout. Establish safe rooms. Practice scenarios. Where do your family members go? What is your communication plan?

Legal Understanding

Know when you legally CAN and CANNOT use force. Learn your state's laws before you need them — not after.

Wisdom #2 — Secure Your Home First

Your firearm is the last line of defense, not the first. A well-secured home deters most threats before they ever escalate. Think in layers — each layer buys you time, and time is what you need.

Locks — Layer 1

Deadbolts, reinforced door frames, strike plates. Most break-ins exploit weak entry points. Harden the doors.

Lights — Layer 2

Motion-activated exterior lighting eliminates the cover of darkness. Criminals prefer shadows. Take them away.

Alarm System — Layer 3

Early alert gives you precious seconds. Monitored systems also notify authorities automatically.

Cameras — Layer 4

Record and deter. Visible cameras signal that this home is defended and watched.

Dog — Layer 5

The best early warning system money can buy. A dog's hearing, loyalty, and bark are irreplaceable.

Firearm — Layer 6 (Last Resort)

When every other layer has failed and your family faces mortal danger — this is what stands between them and harm.

Wisdom #3 — Know the Law

Being morally right and legally protected are two different things. Know your state's laws before you are ever in a defensive situation. Learning them in court is too late — and too expensive.

Castle Doctrine

Available in most states. You have the right to use force — including lethal force — to defend your home against intruders without a duty to retreat first.

Stand Your Ground

Extends Castle Doctrine beyond the home. In states with SYG laws, you may defend yourself anywhere you have a legal right to be, without retreating.

Duty to Retreat

Some states require you to attempt to escape before using force, even in self-defense. Know whether your state imposes this requirement.

Action step: Look up your state's specific self-defense statutes today. Consider consulting a firearms attorney for a one-time legal briefing. The cost is a fraction of what ignorance could cost you in court.

Wisdom #4 — Balance Peacemaker and Protector

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." — Matthew 5:9

Being prepared to defend your family does not make you a warmonger. The goal is always peace. De-escalate whenever possible. Walk away from confrontation when you can.

Avoid situations that put you at risk. A gun is not a shortcut to conflict resolution — it is a last-resort tool for when evil has already made its choice.

"Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter." — Proverbs 24:11

Peacemaking does not mean passivity in the face of evil. A true peacemaker prevents violence whenever possible — and when prevention fails and the innocent are at risk, a true protector acts. These roles are not contradictions. They are two sides of the same calling: love your neighbor enough to defend him.

Chapter 6: Lady Janice's Final Word

After careful consideration of Scripture, history, the Constitution, and the 2026 reality — here is my conclusion:

I am NOT giving up my guns to people who want me dead. Not to politicians who call me a "domestic terrorist" for loving God and country. Not to a government that can't or won't protect me. Not to activists who have never faced real danger. Not to a system that releases violent criminals while prosecuting the law-abiding.

GOD Gave Me the Right and Responsibility

Scripture is clear: protecting your family is a commandment, not a suggestion.

The CONSTITUTION Protects That Right

"Shall not be infringed" means SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

HISTORY Proves Disarmament Leads to Tyranny

Every tyrant in modern history disarmed the people first. The pattern is undeniable.

The 2026 REALITY Demands Vigilance

The world is more dangerous, not less. This is not the time to lay down arms.

WISDOM Says "Be Prepared"

"A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself." — Proverbs 22:3. Not paranoid. Prudent.

Molon Labe

Jesus said get a sword. Our Founders said keep your arms. God said protect your family. I am listening to them — not to corrupt politicians and Marxist activists.

"But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." — Luke 22:35–36

I pray I never have to use my firearm in self-defense. I genuinely hope that day never comes. But if a violent criminal breaks into my home threatening my family, I am prepared to defend them. And I am not asking permission from politicians who have armed security while demanding that I remain defenseless.

MOLON LABE.

"Come and take them." — What the Spartans told the Persians who demanded they surrender their weapons.

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED means SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
