"Before Jesus told you about wars, famines, earthquakes, or the Antichrist — the very first thing out of His mouth about the last days was: 'Take heed that no man deceive you.' Deception is the opening act."

Let me talk to you like a friend who loves you enough to say the hard thing. Because the Church is in trouble right now — not from the enemy outside the walls, but from the ideas inside them. People who love God with their whole hearts are being led into movements, believing prophecies, and investing money based on claims that have no biblical foundation and no historical track record of accuracy.

Hosea 4:6 KJV

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me."

The Most Dangerous Place in 2026

Is not on the street. It is inside a community of sincere believers who have been given information that feels prophetic, sounds biblical, and is actually neither.

The serpent in the garden did not come waving a red flag. He came quoting Scripture and asking questions that sounded theological. "Hath God said?" — Genesis 3:1 — is the oldest conspiracy theory on record.

The Full Biblical Test of a Prophet

Section One

Not One Test. Not Two. SEVEN Tests. And Every False Movement Fails At Least Three.

The Bible does not give us one way to test a prophet. It gives us SEVEN. A sufficiently skilled false prophet can pass one or two tests while failing the others. You have to run the whole test — all seven, every time, no exceptions for popularity, longevity, or conference invitations.

The Theology Test

Deuteronomy 13:1-5 — The most important and most ignored test. The miracle is NOT the test. Where the miracle leads is the test.

The Prediction Test

Deuteronomy 18:20-22 — Did it happen? The moving goalpost is one of the most consistent markers of false prophecy in history.

The Scripture Alignment Test

Isaiah 8:20 — Every prophetic claim must be measured against the law and the testimony. Not against how it makes you feel.

The Fruit Test

Matthew 7:15-20 — Jesus says FRUITS. Not gifts. Not miracles. Not followers. The character produced in the prophet and the people.

Test #2 — The Goalpost Rule

Harold Camping predicted the Rapture for May 21, 2011. Then October 21, 2011. People sold their homes. Deuteronomy 18:22 says: Do not fear him. Not: give him another date. The test is binary. It happened or it did not.

Test #4 — Fruit vs. Gift

The fruit of the true prophetic is always love, joy, peace, longsuffering — Galatians 5:22. The fruit of the false prophetic is anxiety, urgency, anger, isolation, and contempt for those who don't believe.

Acts 17:11 KJV — "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

The Bereans were called MORE NOBLE because they checked Paul against Scripture daily. Not less noble. More noble. Testing is honour, not rebellion. A movement that removes itself from accountability — where questioning becomes a spiritual failure — is a false prophetic system.

Jeremiah 23:21-22 KJV — "I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way."

How Conspiracy Thinking Enters the Church

It Does Not Walk In Through the Front Door. It Never Does.

"The serpent did not arrive in the garden saying, 'I am a liar, and I want to destroy you.' He arrived asking a theological question. 'Hath God said?' is the oldest conspiracy theory on record — and it is still running."

Conspiracy thinking does not look like conspiracy thinking when it arrives. It looks like revelation. It feels like finally having the information everyone else is missing. And the reason it is so effective in Christian communities is because it mirrors the genuine prophetic experience closely enough to be mistaken for it.

"Secret Knowledge" — The idea that hidden knowledge is available only to the spiritually initiated is as old as Gnosticism. Every conspiracy movement is structured the same way: those who are "awake" know things the sleeping masses do not. Even Tertullian — one of the greatest theological minds of the early church — was swept up. Lesson: Intelligence is not protection. Only the seven tests applied consistently are protection.

📜 1843-1844 — The Great Disappointment

William Miller predicted Christ's return between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844. When that passed, the date was adjusted to October 22, 1844. Nothing happened. ~100,000 followers. Some sold farms. Some left Christianity. Some reinterpreted. Deuteronomy 18:22 was available to every Millerite. They needed to apply it.

📜 1994-2011 — Harold Camping

Predicted the Rapture for September 6, 1994. Then May 21, 2011. Then October 21, 2011. Followers donated life savings. Billboards placed across the country. Family Radio's assets: ~$120 million. The test had an answer. The application was available.

"Knowing the tests is not enough. You have to build a culture where the tests are normal, where questions are welcome, where correction is safe, and where the truth is more valued than the exciting. That culture does not build itself. You build it."

When any movement begins separating a believer from family, church, or long-term community — when the language shifts to "they can't understand this yet" — the cult dynamic has begun. Romans 12:18 — "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."

Before social media, before news, before anything — thirty minutes in the actual text of Scripture. Not devotional content. Not commentary. The text. The roots go down before the wind picks up.

The Pause Before the Share

Before sharing any prophetic, political, or spiritual claim — pause 24 hours. Ask: has this been verified? Does it align with Scripture? Does it make me more loving or more fearful? If you cannot answer all three positively — do not share it.

The Weekly Reality Check

Once a week, ask: what did I believe or share this week that I cannot verify from Scripture and credible factual sources? This is not self-condemnation. It is the Berean discipline applied to your own consumption.

The Community Anchor

Stay in a local, in-person community of faith with accountable leadership. Conspiracy movements almost always exist primarily online. The local embodied community is the primary protection — real people who know you, who will tell you the hard thing with love.

The Prayer Calibration

Regular extended prayer — not just for requests but for calibration. Jeremiah 17:9 — "The heart is deceitful above all things." Even your own heart can mislead you. Submit your perceptions and beliefs to the Spirit who leads into all truth.

The Financial Firewall

A simple, non-negotiable rule: I will not invest money in any opportunity connected to a prophetic movement, regardless of how compelling the promised return. Proverbs 28:20 — "He that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent."

The Relationship Guard

If any belief system is damaging your relationships with family or long-term friends, take that as a warning signal — not as evidence they are spiritually blind. The movement that asks you to sacrifice your family relationships has already failed the fruit test.

John 8:31-32 KJV — "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."The truth that sets you free is not secret knowledge from an anonymous insider. It is the Word that Jesus said to continue in — daily, sustained, submitted, tested, applied.

The itching ears are scrolling right now. The teachers who scratch them are multiplying. The fables are trending. Stand in the Word. Build the culture. Protect the people God gave you.

The truth is enough. It has always been enough. It will always be enough. And unlike every prophetic movement promising a coming reset — the truth has never had to move its goalpost.
