“YOU SAT ON YOUR HANDS: 50,000 Americans Worked Without Pay While Congress Did Nothing - A Biblical Reckoning

While 50,000 Americans worked without pay, airports ran food pantries for their own security staff, and the richest man on earth offered to pay the bill —

Congress sat on its hands and cited the rules.

OPENING STATEMENT: The Facts, Before the Fire

Before any prophet speaks, they must name what is true. So let me name it.

On March 21, 2026 — today, as I write this — Elon Musk posted on X: "I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country."

One man.

One offer. The richest man on earth, raising his hand, opening his wallet, saying: I will cover it. I will make sure the workers get paid.

The answer from the system:

You cannot. The rules do not allow it. Donations to the federal government go into the Treasury, and the Treasury cannot disburse them without a congressional appropriation.

Which Congress has not passed? Which is the entire problem.

TSA Officers

Working without pay since February 14, 2026

TSA Resignations

Agents who have already resigned

Wait Times

Security lines at Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Philadelphia

TSA Salary

Average annual salary vs. Congressional salary of $174,000

The TSA officer who has been standing in a checkpoint since February 14th without a paycheck is not a political abstraction. She is a person. She has rent. She has children. She has groceries to buy and a second job she now has to work because the United States Congress — 535 people collecting $174,000 a year — cannot pass a bill to pay the people protecting its airports.

That is what this document is about. Not politics. Not a party. Not procedure. About the workers. About the God who sees the workers. And about what His word says to the people who are supposed to serve them.

"The prophet does not come to take sides. The prophet comes to tell you which side God is already on. In this case, He is standing in the airport security line with the unpaid worker."

YOU HAVE MOUTHS, BUT YOU DO NOT SPEAK THE TRUTH

Psalm 115:5-7 (KJV) "They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat."

The Psalmist wrote that about idols carved from silver and gold. About statues with features and no function. About the dead things men build to represent power they do not actually have.

I am applying it to Congress in March 2026, and I invite you to tell me where the application fails.

You have mouths.

You speak constantly. You appear on television, you issue press releases, you give floor speeches, hold press conferences, and post on social media at all hours. The volume of your speech is not in question. The content is.

You have eyes, but you do not see.

The TSA supervisor in Philadelphia who brought a lunch from home because she is not sure she can afford to buy one.

You have ears, but you do not hear.

The union leader who warned this week that airport security risks are escalating and smaller airports could close entirely if this goes on much longer.

You have hands, but you handle not.

The legislation that would resolve this in a day if you had the courage to sit down, set aside the immigration politics, and pay the workers. Instead, you walk past the problem. And 50,000 people wait.

Luke 16:10 (KJV) "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much."

The least thing required of you is that you fund the government you were elected to run. Not the complicated thing. Not the visionary thing. The floor. The baseline. The showing-up minimum. Fund. The Government. In five weeks, you have done nothing. Do not ask me to trust you with much.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

CHARGE TWO

YOU ARE USING THE POOR AS BARGAINING CHIPS

Deuteronomy 24:14-15 (KJV) "Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates: At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee."

At his day thou shalt give him his hire. Not at the conclusion of your immigration policy negotiations. Not when the other side concedes on the warrant requirement for ICE.

Not when the bipartisan working group finishes narrowing the remaining disputes, as Senate Majority Leader John Thune described it on Friday. At his day. Today. When the sun has not gone down on the work he performed.

The sun has gone down thirty-five times since February 14th. Thirty-five sunsets. The TSA officer has not been paid. And the scripture says specifically: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.

It is a sin. I said it. God said it before I did.

To the Democrats who are withholding DHS funding over ICE policy disputes: the TSA officer working the security checkpoint in Atlanta has nothing to do with ICE enforcement policy. She did not author it. She does not implement it. She does not benefit from it. She stands in an airport and makes sure the person in 17B is not carrying something that will kill everyone on the plane.

You are using her financial desperation as a negotiating tool in a fight she has nothing to do with. You are holding her paycheck hostage while you extract policy concessions on an entirely different agency. You are standing on her back to get a better angle on your fight. That has a name in the scripture. It is called oppression.

Amos 5:11-12 (KJV) "Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them. For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right."

They afflict the just. The TSA officer is just. She did her job. She showed up. She earned her pay. And Congress turned her aside from her right. Amos told the people of his day what happened to the hewn stone houses of the people who did that. History has been vindicating Amos ever since.

Isaiah 10:1-2 (KJV) "Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!"

Isaiah said woe. Not 'this is unfortunate.' Not 'this could be improved.' Woe. A word of divine weight. A word that means: what you are doing has consequences that reach beyond the next election cycle. What you are doing is being seen. What you are doing will be answered.

YOU BIND BURDENS YOU WILL NOT TOUCH YOURSELVES

Matthew 23:4 (KJV) "For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers."

Jesus said this to the scribes and Pharisees — the official religious leaders of His day who made the rules and bore none of the weight of the rules they made. Let me give you the 2026 translation.

Congressional Salary

$174,000 per year

TSA Officer Salary

$61,000 per year

Congressional Pay Interrupted

Zero. None. Not one dollar.

TSA Officer Pay Interrupted

All of it. Since February 14th.

CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION OF CONGRESSIONAL PAY: The 27th Amendment to the United States Constitution (ratified 1992) states: 'No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.' Congressional salaries are constitutionally protected from the very kind of funding disruption members of Congress have imposed on the workers they were elected to serve.

Let that sit with you for a moment. The 27th Amendment was ratified to prevent Congress from arbitrarily changing its own compensation. The practical effect during a government shutdown is that congressional pay is protected at the constitutional level while the pay of the people Congress is supposed to serve is not.

Members of Congress receive their $174,000 salary, their staff allowances, their travel reimbursements, their office budgets, and their committee stipends uninterrupted. The TSA officer, averaging $61,000 a year, has received nothing since February 14th.

You bound the burden on their shoulders. You carry no weight of it. Not one congressional staffer has had to look into food pantry options. Not one congressional office has gone dark. Not one committee room has run out of anything.

That is not governance. That is lordship. And you are not lords. You are servants. That is what the word 'representative' means. You represent the people. You serve the people. The people are standing in airport checkpoints, unpaid, while their servants sit in heated offices citing rules about Treasury disbursements.

Matthew 23:23 (KJV) "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

The weightier matters: judgment, mercy, and faith. You cite the Treasury disbursement rule with precision. You omit the weightier matter: fifty thousand Americans who cannot make rent. Jesus called that a hypocrite. I am using His word, not my own.

A PRIVATE CITIZEN HAS MORE COMPASSION THAN YOU DO

Luke 10:30-37 (KJV) "And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance, there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise."

I want to be careful here, because I am not canonizing any individual and I am not making Elon Musk a saint. He is a human being with human complexity and God alone knows his full accounting.

But on March 21, 2026, one man looked at 50,000 workers going without pay, saw the airport lines stretching three hours, heard about the food pantries and the gift card collections and the workers taking second jobs in humiliation, and said: I will pay for it.

The Samaritan

Someone who came where the wounded person was, had compassion, and said: I will cover whatever it costs.

The Priest & The Levite

Both of them were the official custodians of the system that was supposed to prevent this situation. Both of them saw the need. Both of them had the power to act. Neither of them stopped. Congress is the priest. Congress is the Levite.

You have seen the wound for five weeks. You have the power to fix it with a single bill.

You have not stopped.

And when the man who stopped offered his resources, your system told him: Sorry, against the rules. The donation would go to the Treasury, and there is no mechanism to disburse it without an appropriation. The very appropriation you have not passed for five weeks.

"The rule that blocks the solution is the same institution that created the problem. That is not a coincidence. That is a system protecting itself from accountability."
Luke 10:36-37 (KJV) "Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise."

Go and do thou likewise. Not: form a subcommittee to study the precedent implications of Samaritan-style interventions. Not: issue a statement expressing deep concern for the wounded man while walking past him. Go. And do. Likewise.

A private citizen is doing what you will not. He is offering what you refuse to authorize. And in the parable of your own moral universe, he is the neighbor, and you are the ones who passed by.

YOU OPPRESS THE JUST WITH THE RULES OF THE UNJUST

Proverbs 22:22-23 (KJV) "Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil those that spoiled them."

The LORD will plead their cause. These are not empty words. They are a legal declaration. God is telling you, through the oldest wisdom literature in the canon, that when you oppress the person who comes to the gate to seek justice — when you use the mechanisms of the system to deny people what they have earned — God becomes their attorney.

He does not use the rules about Treasury disbursements. He does not have a procedural framework that prevents Him from acting. He does not require a concurrent resolution before He can intervene. He pleads the cause of the poor and spoils those who spoiled them.

I want you to sit with that word: spoil. The same word is used for what Pharaoh's army experienced at the Red Sea. The same word was used when David's enemies received back what they had done. The LORD will plead their cause, and spoil those that spoiled them.

The TSA worker has been spoiled with her wages. This is the scripture's language, not mine. And the scripture is clear about what happens next.

Proverbs 10:3 (KJV) "The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked."

The righteous will not famish. This is a promise and a verdict simultaneously. The TSA officer working without pay is righteous in this specific legal sense: she did her job, she showed up, she earned what was owed her. The LORD will not allow her to famish. He is making provision for her — through Elon Musk's offer, through the airport food pantries, through the second jobs, through the community support — while the official system fails her.

And the substance of the wicked will be cast away. This is not a comfortable sentence for institutions that have built their wealth on the appropriations process they now refuse to use.

James 4:17 (KJV) "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

You know what to do. You know how to fund the government. You have done it before. You know that a clean DHS funding bill could be written, voted on, and signed in twenty-four hours if the political will existed. You know how to do good. You have chosen not to do it.

That has a name in the scripture. One syllable. Sin.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

THE FULL INDICTMENT: A SUMMARY

Five charges. Five weeks. One verdict.

You Have Mouths, But You Do Not Speak the Truth

You speak constantly — press releases, floor speeches, social media — but you do not see the TSA supervisor who cannot afford lunch, you do not hear the union leader warning of airport closures, and you do not handle the legislation that would resolve this in a day.

You Are Using the Poor as Bargaining Chips

The sun has gone down thirty-five times since February 14th. You are holding the TSA officer's paycheck hostage while you extract policy concessions on an entirely different agency. That has a name in the scripture. It is called oppression.

You Bind Burdens You Will Not Touch Yourselves

Congressional pay: protected by the 27th Amendment. TSA officer pay: interrupted entirely. That is not governance. That is lordship. And you are not lords. You are servants.

A Private Citizen Has More Compassion Than You Do

One man offered to pay the bill. Your system blocked him with the very rules your inaction created. You are the priest. You are the Levite. You passed by on the other side.

You Oppress the Just with the Rules of the Unjust

You know how to do good. You have chosen not to do it. That has a name in the scripture.

One syllable. Sin.

THE WORD STANDS

This document is not a political manifesto. It is not affiliated with any party, any campaign, or any political movement. It is a prophetic rebuke grounded in scripture, applied to a specific, documented, verifiable situation.

"The prophet does not come to take sides. The prophet comes to tell you which side God is already on. In this case, He is standing in the airport security line with the unpaid worker."

"The rule that blocks the solution is the same institution that created the problem. That is not a coincidence. That is a system protecting itself from accountability."

The TSA officer is not a political abstraction. She is a person. She has rent. She has children. She has groceries to buy and a second job she now has to work because the United States Congress — 535 people collecting $174,000 a year — cannot pass a bill to pay the people protecting its airports.

The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish. He is making provision for her while the official system fails her. And the scripture is clear about what happens next to those who spoiled her.

The word stands. It stood before this shutdown. It will stand after it. And it will be answered.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

A FINAL WORD

To the 50,000 TSA officers who have stood at their posts without pay:

God sees you. The scripture names you as righteous in this specific legal sense: you did your job, you showed up, you earned what was owed you. The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish. That is a promise. It is also a verdict.

To the United States Congress:

You have mouths. You have eyes. You have hands. You have the power to end this in twenty-four hours. Fund the government. Pay the workers. Do the least thing required of you. The weightier matters — judgment, mercy, and faith — are watching. God is watching. History is watching.

To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. — James 4:17 (KJV)

You sat on your hands. The question now is whether you will stand up.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

US Capitol, clasped hands, TSA worker near food pantry, person holding "I Will Help" sign. Bold text: "You Sat on Your Hands." Mood: Critical.

GOD SITS HIGH AND LOOKS LOW.

Mr. Congressperson—hear this plainly: He sees. He knows. And your name is not lost in the crowd.

While people struggle and go without, you sit in comfort, withholding wages that were earned. That is not leadership—that is failure of responsibility.

And when a willing man stepped forward with the means to help, instead of receiving it, you buried it in rules and red tape of your own making.

Something has gone wrong.

This is not written in anger alone—but in conviction. Because there is a standard higher than policy, higher than procedure, and higher than position.

There is justice. There is accountability. And there is God.

I pray that the scales that have blinded you are removed.I pray clarity comes where there has been confusion.I pray conviction comes where there has been silence. And I pray that each of you—individually—finds your way back to truth.

Not just for yourselves…but for this country.
